I don't quite understand the meaning of the two old sayings.
I lperfer“菩提本无树,明镜亦非台,本来无一物,何处惹尘埃。”over the first one. The reason is that I think it tries to tell people no need to brush hard on their hearts to make it tidy and shiny because no matter how hard you brush, dust is always there. In my own opinion, the harder you try to brush off, your heart will bleed more. And I think it will take longer time for the heart to recover (It's quite painful, isn't it? I can imagine the pain if I try to brush my wound on my arm after I cut myself with a knife. And we are talking about our hearts here!!!) So instead, ppls should keep their dusty hearts and live on. As time goes, the dust will go off gradually. I guess when ppls leave this world, all the dust will stay behind.... Based on my experience, there are many many great things waiting for you to explore in this world. Don't waste time to do the brushing. Go explore and fill your life with more enjoyments! Life is unpredictable. Sometimes, life happens and you have no controls. But look at the bright side because you don't know what's ahead of you and that's the exciting thing about life.
